4Mile - Agents who have recently completed the FIA Code Course

At 4Mile, we believe that great fundraising starts with integrity.

That’s why our team has completed the FIA Code Course and is currently finishing the FIA Code Essentials for Telephone Fundraising – two nationally recognised programs developed by the Fundraising Institute Australia.

This ongoing professional training keeps our managers, leaders and agents up to date with the FIA Code of Conduct, strengthening ethical, transparent, and responsible fundraising practices in every campaign we run.

What Is the FIA Code of Conduct?

The Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) is the largest representative body for the fundraising sector in Australia. Its Code of Conduct guides the foundation for ethical fundraising in Australia and New Zealand, aiming to raise industry standards of conduct by exceeding government regulatory requirements.

By following the FIA Code of Conduct, we reaffirm our commitment to ethical fundraising, safeguarding donors, and representing charities honestly, respectfully, and transparently.

About the FIA Courses

1. FIA Code Course

The Code Course aims to provide FIA members with a practical understanding of the Code of Conduct and best fundraising practices.

It reminds fundraising professionals to act transparently and ethically and teaches us how to apply the key principles of the Code in the following fundraising activities:

  • Conduct towards and communication with donors
  • Conduct towards and communication with beneficiaries, including those in vulnerable circumstances
  • Professional engagement with suppliers
2. FIA Code Essentials for Telephone Fundraising

This specialised course focuses on ethical telephone fundraising, promoting professional, ethical and best-practice conduct towards donors and their supporters.

It also covers:

  • The history and importance of self-regulation in fundraising in Australia
  • The basic tenets of the FIA Code
  • Vulnerability and donor interactions

By completing both courses, 4Mile’s team strengthen their understanding of fundraising compliance and their ability to uphold our core values: honesty, respect, and transparency.

Why Regular Training Matters

Ethical fundraising is an ongoing commitment. At 4Mile, our team regularly updates their FIA Code of Conduct training to stay in line with changing industry standards.

This helps us:

  • Lead by example
  • Maintain full compliance with FIA Code expectations
  • Conduct telephone fundraising campaigns that reflect best practices across Australia and New Zealand

What It Means for Our Clients and Their Donors

For our charity partners, our FIA Code certifications provide reassurance that every campaign is conducted to the highest ethical and professional standards.

For donors, it means every call from a 4Mile fundraiser is respectful, transparent, and guided by the FIA’s ethical fundraising principles.

Every conversation reflects our shared values: Honesty. Respect. Transparency. Care. Support.

By investing in continuous training and FIA Code compliance, 4Mile reinforces its position as a trusted leader in ethical fundraising and customer engagement.
